Mathare United have confirmed the signing of former AFC Leopards captain Eugene Mukangula for the remainder of the season.
The midfielder rejoins coach John Kamau who he worked with at Thika United and arrives to boost the Slum Boys experience as they seek to stay afloat in the FKF Premier League.

“Mathare United is delighted to announce the signing of free agent Eugene Mukangula,” Mathare said on their Facebook handle while announcing the arrival of the burly player. “The attacking midfielder, who was most recently attached to Shabana FC, has committed to the club for the remainder of the 2024/25 season.”
Mukangula arrives from Shabana FC where he barely got game time and becomes the eighth signing for Mathare who has a tie against KCB tomorrow.
“Mukangula, renowned for his vision on the court and a left foot that packs a lot of punch, links up with head coach John Kamau who signed him at Thika United while still in school at Chavakali. After leaving Thika where he was for four years, Mukangula joined AFC Leopards and played another four years with the same team before a brief stint with Shabana,” Mathare added.
The Slum Boys are currently placed 12th on the table with 25 points.
