Zambian top-flight club Kabwe Warriors has secured the signing of Ugandan striker Ssempala Ronald on a free transfer from FKF Premier League side Sofapaka.

The forward has joined the club until the end of the season, with an option for an extension The 24-year-old goal poacher leaves Kenya after a short stint with the 1× Kenya Premier League champions, where he bagged four goals and provided three assists in just eight appearances. His contributions made him a key figure in Sofapaka’s attack, but he has now opted for a new challenge in the Zambia Super League.

In a statement, Kabwe said, “Kabwe Warriors is pleased to announce the signing of Ugandan Striker Ssempala Ronald. Ssempala joins from Kenyan Premier League side Sofapaka as a free agent until the end of the season with an option to extend.”

Speaking after sealing the move, Ssempala expressed his excitement about joining the five-time Zambian league champions, “I am delighted to join this great and historical club, and I hope to contribute positively to its success in the present and near future. Kabwe Warriors is a big club, and I hope to help the team win titles.”

Kabwe will be hoping Ssempala’s arrival strengthens their attacking department as the team aims to challenge domestic trophies and secure a spot in continental competitions.
