“Mathare United is delighted to announce the signing of midfielder Jacob Onyango, who will wear the famous yellow and green for the 25/26 season,” Mathare United said in a statement. “Yobo, as he is affectionately referred to by his peers, was most recently attached to Bidco United.”

The player will be battling it out with the likes of captain Ellie Asiche in the middle of the park as the John Kamau coached side hopes to perform better this season having regressed in the second leg of last season.

He becomes the club’s signing in this transfer window after the arrival of John Macharia who was roped in from Bandari FC.

The player who previously featured for the now defunct Nakumatt FC will be hoping he can get a slot starting with their league opener against Posta Rangers at the Kasarani Annex on September 23rd 2025.

After Rangers, Mathare has dates against KCB FC, Tusker FC, Kariobangi Sharks and Shabana FC in their first five games of the new season.
