Kenya Police forward Omondi celebrates after scoring against his former club Sofapaka FC

Edward Omondi scored the lone goal as Dusan Stojanovic began his Kenya Police FC reign with a hard fought 1-0 win over Sofapaka FC in a Sportpesa League game staged on Wednesday 5th November 2025 at the Police Sacco Stadium.

It was Omondi’s second goal for the law enforcers since joining them in the off season transfer window from Sofapaka FC after representing Harambee Stars in the African Nations Championship (CHAN) where Kenya were eliminated in the quarters.

Police had entered the game in the relegation zone but the win pushes them to eighth spot despite only playing four matches this indicating how tightly the league has been in the opening weeks.

For Sofapaka, the loss ended their three-match unbeaten streak but will be comfortable with the fact that they still have the same number of points as their Wednesday opponents but having played more games.

Attention for Police now turns to their next game where they are set to face Gor Mahia on Sunday with Sofapaka travelling to Mombasa to take on Bandari FC at the KPA Grounds.
