Football Predictions

Namibia will be hosting Kenya’s Harambee Stars at the Orlando Stadium on Tuesday in Group J action of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers.

Namibia went 0-1 down to Cameroon in the Qualifiers opener last week after failing to take their chances. They lost 5-0 to Angola in the COSAFA Tournament staged in July meaning they have lost back-to-back games something they should want to stop against Kenya.

Stars, under Engin Firat, has been blowing hot and cold and managed to hold Zimbabwe to a goalless draw in their opener. They are unbeaten in 8 of their last 9 games across all competitions claiming 5 wins and three draws in the process.

H2H / Stats

This will be the first meeting between the two sides since September 2013, when the Harambee Stars picked up a 1-0 victory at the Moi International Sports Complex courtesy of David Owino Odhiambo’s fifth-minute strike.

Team News

Namibia should name the same team that lost narrowly to Cameroon meaning that Riaan Hanamub, Ngero Katua, Kennedy Amutenya, Charles Hambira and Ivan Kamberipa should form the back five once again.

Stars might miss the services of defender Alphonce Omija who was forced off with a 21st-minute injury against Zimbabwe. Amos Nondi should be drafted into the starting team for the visitors.

Probable Line-Up

Namibia XI: Maova (GK), Hanamub, Katua, Amutenya, Hambira, Kamberipa, Hotto, Petrus, Shidolo, Tjiueza, Shalulile

Kenya XI: B. Odhiambo (GK), Nondi, S. Owino, J. Okumu, E. Otieno, D. Abuya, A. Akumu, R. Odada, A. Odhiambo, R. Onyango, E Omondi

Verdict

Coach Firat comes to the game with a better team than their opponents but you just never know which side will turn against Namibia even though we are giving them the advantage.

Other Bets of the Match

Peter Shalulile to Score

Reason: Shalulie has netted 16 goals in 49 senior caps since his debut in September 2014 and the Mamelodi Sundowns striker should lead the Namibia attack.

Under 2.5 Goals

Reason: Firat deployed a conservative approach in their game against Zimbabwe and that is expected to continue on Tuesday so we expect a few goals in the game.
