Fabian Ruiz was the star of the show, scoring twice in a commanding midfield performance in the first half. He opened the scoring just six minutes in, tucking home a left-footed strike from the centre of the box after being teed up by Ousmane Dembele after some poor defending from Raul Asensio.
The Spanish midfielder then added a second in the 23rd minute, this time finishing low into the bottom corner after excellent build-up play from Achraf Hakimi.
In between Ruiz’s goals, Dembele got on the scoresheet himself. The winger doubled PSG’s lead in the 9th minute with a tidy left-footed finish after breaking the Madrid line and racing in behind in what was his 35th goal of the season.
