Harambee Stars forward Ryan Ogam celebrating a past goal for Harambee Stars

Harambee Stars striker Ryan Ogam has shared his experiences since joining Austrian Bundesliga side Wolfsberger AC from Tusker FC in September 2025.

Ogam revealed that he has been settling in well, though adapting to the chilly European weather has been his biggest adjustment so far.

“Life has been great. I’m still trying to adapt to the weather because it’s really cold, but everything is okay and getting better by the day,” Ogam said.

Ogam’s move to Europe capped an impressive spell at Tusker FC, where he emerged as one of the Sportpesa Premier League’s deadliest forwards, netting 15 goals in just 17 matches last season.

Although a knee injury early in 2025 briefly stalled his momentum, the 21-year-old bounced back in style at the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) where he scored decisive goals against Morocco and Zambia where he earned Man-of-the-Match honours.

At Wolfsberger AC, who finished fourth in last season’s Austrian Bundesliga playoffs, Ogam says the environment has pushed him to grow both on and off the pitch.

“What stands out is the structure and professionalism. They’ve really put their systems together compared to Kenya. We are trying, but the level there is much higher—and that also comes with discipline,” he explained.

Ogam is currently in camp with the Harambee Stars and he is prepared for the upcoming fixtures and is already looking forward to the game; “We have two good upcoming friendlies to test ourselves as individuals. This is just the first training session, and we’ll keep working from here. I can say we’re mentally prepared, and all will be well.”

Harambee Stars are preparing for two international friendlies in Turkey against Equatorial Guinea on Friday, November 14, at the Emir Complex and Senegal four days later at the Mardan Stadium.

The national team is set to depart for Turkey on Wednesday, November 12.
