Much of the talk this week has been on the international games with the local football scene awash with news about Harambee Stars.
While debates have been raging on call-ups, players dropped and those that made the squad ahead o Iran friendly next week, there are players who have been fighting for places in the team with the hope that they can get the required game time to boost their profiles.

One of these players is Mamelodi Sundowns defender Brian Onyango Mandela whose contract with the South African club will be coming to an end in June 2023. While he has proven to be an astute player at both club and national team levels, figures from Briefly News puts Onyango as the 8th best earner in the South African top flight (the Dstv Premiership).
Onyango is said to be walking home with a sum of R380,000 (Apprx KES 2.7M) with the highest earner in the league being Kaizer Chiefs’ Keagan Dolly who earns R1.45M (Approx KES 10M) a month; the top ten list dominated by Chiefs and Sundowns players.
Apart from Onyango, some of the highest earners in the team include Michael Olunga on a £37500 a week wage, Joseph Okumu (£2100), and Richard Odada (£1700) according to figures from Salary Sport.

Little is known about the salaries of players plying their trade in the Swedish Allsvenskan that has the Stars duo of Eric Ouma and Collins Shicheje but the average monthly pay in the league is 104319SEK (Apprx KES 1.3M)
Out of the squad, Victor Wanyama is still the highest earner among Kenyan footballers with the Montreal Impact star having been on a £40,000 a week wage for his club before signing a new improved deal earlier in the year. The other on a good salary is Eric Johanna who represents Muangthong United on a £4,300 (Approx. KES 595k) weekly wage; striker Jonah Ayunga walking home with a weekly wage of £910 at Scottish side St. Mirren.
