Kenyan football has been plunged into mourning following the passing of Vera Omollo, the wife of veteran coach and former Harambee Stars defender Sammy “Pamzo” Omollo.
The news, which broke on Monday, has seen an outpouring of sympathy from the football fraternity, supporters, and former players who worked with the respected tactician who left his role as the Posta Rangers manager last week.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed led the tributes, offering a heartfelt message of comfort to the Omollo family during their moment of grief.
“My deepest condolences to Coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo and the entire Omollo family following the passing of his wife, Vera Omollo. May you find strength and comfort during this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Mohammed said.
Pamzo, known for his leadership on and off the pitch and admired for guiding clubs such as Tusker FC, Gor Mahia, and Posta Rangers, has enjoyed a long-standing presence in Kenyan football both as a player and coach.
As the Omollo family begins the difficult journey of coming to terms with their loss, the Pepeta community stands firmly beside them, offering prayers, strength, and love during this painful period.
