AFC Leopards players celebrate their Round 7 SPL win over Mathare United | Pepeta.

The Sportpesa League continued for its seventh round with AFC Leopards making it three wins on the bounce to close gap on the teams.

Leopards faced Mathare United and emerged 2-0 winners with their goals coming from Vincent Mahiga and James Kinyajui; the last bagging his first goal for the Fred Ambani side against his former employees.

The win propelled them to third on the league table with 12 points, just two points off leaders Kakamega Homeboyz and one below arch rivals Gor Mahia who were held to a 1-1 draw by Ulinzi Stars on Sunday.

Posta Rangers perfect start to the season was again dented having fought to a goalless draw against Kenya Police with Homeboyz battling to a 1-1 draw against Tusker FC to make their position at the top of the league a precautius one since they have played a game more than their closest challengers.

Elsewhere, Robert Matano and his KCB side dropped to 13th on the table having lost their third game on the trot. The 2-1 loss against Murangá Seal will have coach Matano thinking about their next games as they have tricky tests against Bidco, Bandari and Homeboyz coming up.

In other games, newbies Nairobi United failed to replicate their continental outing having gone 3-0 down to Sofapaka FC with Shabana stopping their rot with a hard fought draw against Kariobangi Sharks.
