After a two week break, the Sportpesa League returns on Sunday 4th January 2026 with the first matches of the year seeing AFC Leopards, Shabana FC, Kakamega Homeboyz and Nairobi United being in action.
With Homeboyz traveling to Nyayo Stadium to take Leopards, Shabana will be hoping to boost their title chances when they host newbies Nairobi United at Gusii Stadium.

Shabana who sits third on the table with 23 points, just a point off the league leaders, knows that a win will see them ascend to the top of the league before Leopards takes on Homeboyz later in the day.
Visitors United have hit the news headlines this week with news that they will be parting ways with a chunk of their players but their supposed to be replacements should bail them out considering they are winless in their last four matches.
This will be the first meeting between the sides in the Kenyan top flight and one that might come with casualties more so for United coach Nicholas Muyoti who has come under pressure in recent games.

AFC Leopards v Kakamega Homeboyz, 4pm (Nyayo Stadium)
AFC Leopards will be looking to extend their lead at the top of the table having been unbeaten in their last six games.
The Fred Ambani side will be confident coming into this tie as they are facing a Homeboyz side who last won a league game on 23 November but they can’t be underrated as they are just three points off Leopards.
This will be the 24th meeting between the two sides since Homeboyz’s promotion to the top tier. In this period, Leopards have won nine to Homeboyz’s eight, while the remaining matches ended in draws.
