Eric Johanna Omondi’s impressive outing with UTA Arad continued on Sunday as he scored and gave two assists as they emerged 3-1 winners over Universitatea Cluj in a Romania Premier League game.
Omondi gave visitors UTA a 13th-minute lead and then assisted Luckassen’s goal in the 36th minute but Cluj reduced the arrears in first-half stoppage time through Popa to give his side a fighting chance in the second half.

Those dreams were however quashed ten minutes after the resumption when Omondi once again turned provider to Fabry for UTA’s third of the game. The win was UTA’s second on the trot and after a slow start to the season, they have now climbed 11th on the table with 30 points.
In other games involving Kenyans on Sunday, Joseph Okumu managed to play in the entire game as Reims went 2-3 down to Toulouse in the French Ligue One as Johnstone Omurwa played a part as Estrela lost 0-1 to Estoril in the Portuguese top flight.
On Saturday, Ayub Timbe started as Sabail went 2-1 down to Azerbaijan giants Qarabag with Henry Ochieng managing the entire game as Chelmsford City 1-2 loss to Havant in the English National League. Both Umar Yasin and Kevin Owino featured in Apolonia Fier’s 1-0 win over Luzi 2008 in the Albania top flight.
