Harambee Stars defender Clarke Oduor could soon be teammates with striker Mario Balotelli after his club Barnsley enquired about the availability of the player.

Sky Sports reports that conversations have been held between Balotelli’s representatives and Barnsley’s co-chairmen Chien Lee and Paul Conway, but talks have not gone any further.

The 30-year-old former Manchester City and Liverpool striker is a free striker after terminating his contract with Brescia in June and despite being linked with a move in the summer, nothing metalized.

The player has been training with Serie D side Franciacorta to maintain his fitness ahead of a potential move in January.

Apart from Barnsley, there had been reports that the player held talks with Watford FC too but a deal didn’t materialize with other tabloids linking him with a move to Mexico and Brazil too.

Barnsley, who are currently 16th in the Championship table will hope that the experienced striker can add to their strike force as they seek to better last season’s performance where they stayed afloat in the league on the final day of the season.

Balotelli won three Serie A titles and the Champions League at Inter Milan, before winning the Premier League and FA Cup during a three-year spell at Manchester City.
