Tusker FC Player celebrating a goal in a past match

Tusker FC made it two wins on the bounce this season after overpowering Kariobangi Sharks 2-1 in a Sportpesa Premier League game staged on Wednesday at the Sportpesa Arena.

After a slow start to the season that saw the brewers losing their opening games against KCB and Posta Rangers, they drew Mathare United and Shabana too in a period that saw fans call for the head of head coach Charles Okere on the plate.

The win is their second on the trot this season having beaten Murangá Seal in theist last game but the game against Sharks didn’t come without its fair share of challenges.

Having been held for the better part of the first half, Tusker got the lead in stoppage time of first half when Dennis Oguta smashed the ball past Harambee Stars keeper Sebastien Wekesa in Sharks goal after being teed up by Thomas Teka.

To ease pressure on Okere, former Sharks striker Eric Kapaito doubled Tusker’s lead in the 59th minute but a late consolation from seven minutes from time through an Andreas Omondi’s deflected shot ensured a tense finish.

Attention for the brewers, who climbed to sixth on the log, now turns to league leaders Kakamega Homeboyz who hosts them in Bukhungu in their next league game.
