Tusker FC goalkeeper Brandon Obiero has set lofty ambitions after managing back to back games for his side in the Sportpesa League.
Obiero was between the sticks in the club’s last two games against Mara Sugar FC and Ulinzi Stars where he didn’t concede and he feels he could keep 13 clean sheets in the season if he can play regularly.

“My target at the start of the season as to keep 13 cleansheets and if I attain that, then I will be among the top keepers in the league. This means that I have to work hard to play more. I am thankful to have played back to back matches and this gives me encouragement especially with the two clean sheets,” the former Posta Rangers keeper is quoted by the club’s portal.
“As a team we want to win each match as it comes and be crowned champions at the end of the season. We need to keep working because nothing comes easy.”

The keeper believes that competition for places in the team is healthy as every one of them has to be on toe.
“As a player in a team, you will always need to be ready because eventually, an opportunity will come and you have to be ready to take it. It is now up to me to work and prove myself,” he noted.
“Competition in the team is high and healthy and we push each other to perform well. We have a very strong goalkeeping department with Ochuka (Joseph) who is very experienced as well as Opondo (Brian) who has been with the national team and trained with some of the best in the country. We always share our experiences and at the end of the day we back whoever is picked to start.”
Obiero will be hoping to be between the sticks when the team faces Sofapaka FC in their next game.
