Harambee Stars head coach Jacob ‘Ghost’ Mulee surprised everyone when he named his first squad since taking over the reins of the national team earlier in the week.

 

In giving his provisional squad that is set to meet Comoros in a 2021 AFCON Qualifiers doubleheader next month, Mulee named one Mathew Olaka in the squad much to the amazement of the Kenyan fans.

 

In their search, Pepeta found out that the 20-year-old who is currently unattached last featured for Canadian Division 1 side Lakehill in the Vancouver Island Soccer League (VISL).

Naturally, a central midfielder, the player captained his high school team to two Championships via International School League.

 

After high school, Matthew moved to Victoria 2 and then proceeded to the University of Victoria’s Computer Science program.

 

In one of the interviews with Lakehill, he admitted that his favourite player is Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

 

The website claim that the player had two uncles who played in the Kenyan Premier League in the 1980s and 1990s.
