Football Kenya Federation has named Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor as the new head coach of the Kenya national Women’s football team Harambee Starlets according to reports from various local tabloids.

The news comes just hours after the Federation confirmed that they had secured an international friendly for Starlets with Albania with the players set to report to camp on March 30th, 2023.

Oduor is currently an assistant coach to Zedekiah Otieno at FKF Premier League side KCB FC and has been a key figure in the team as they try to match the best teams in the Kenyan top flight for the league title.

The situation of former Starlets head coach Charles Okare isn’t yet clear as FKF CEO Barry Otieno had previously revealed that the Tusker FC assistant coach was to retain his position at the team immediately after FIFA lifted the ban that had been meted on Kenya.

Oduor’s has recently been seen watching the FKF Women’s Cup in what is believed to have been his first days in the top seat as he looks for players for his team and will hope that the experience he has in his previous stations will be vital in changing the fortunes of the team.
