With Football Kenya Federation confirming Godfrey ‘Solo’ Oduor as the new Harambee Starlets coach for their upcoming friendly against Albania, it is another time to look at the players who might be available for the new coach for the tie.

Starlets have been out of action for over a year but it has been one of the most successful periods for women’s football with a chunk of the ladies getting moves away from the country since their last call-ups to the national team.

Of the players plying their trade abroad, Marjolene Nekesa who left FC Minsk for Czech Republic’s Slavia Prague remains one of the most inform players and is likely to be called by Oduor in the Albania test. The other player is Esse Akida who despite being out of the national team for a long time, is one of the most experienced in the lot and continues to show why she is among the best in the country after being named the top scorer of their Greek League where she plays for AC PAOK last season.

Another player who has had a good outing away from home is Violet Wanyonyi who has shone in her debut season in Morocco where she represents Municipal de Laayoune with the likes of Enez Mango and Jentrix Shikangwa, who is the current leading scorer in the Tanzania league, his other options.
