The Kenya Women’s National team entered their second day of residential training at Kasarani Stadium on Wednesday ahead of their first leg 2024 Women Africa Cup of Nations match against Botswana on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at Nyayo Stadium.

This is the last hurdle in the qualification process with a win in the two legs set to see the team qualify for the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations for the second time in seven years.

After the first leg, the team that entered camp on Monday will play the second leg away in Botswana on Tuesday, December 5, 2023.

Coach Beldine Odemba has called up most players who did duty against Cameroon in the last qualification round with Vihiga Queens Mercyline Wayodi and FK Apolonia Fier Lorna Nyarinda making a comeback to the team; there is no place for Greek-based Esse Akida with her omission having generated debate on the football circles.

Joining the squad for the first time are Kenya Police Bullets Goalkeeper Mishi Mbaru, Bungoma Queens Defender Centrine Wasike, and Kenya Police Bullets and Kibera Soccer Ladies Forwards, respectively, Rebecca Okwaro and Nancy Atako.

Graduating to the senior team from Rising Starlets is the Ulinzi Starlets duo of Joy Kinglady and Fasila Odhiambo.
