Harambee Starlets striker Marjolene Nekesa featured as Slavia Praha went 0-1 down to Brann in a UEFA Women’s Champions League game staged on Wednesday night.
Praha had come to the game after losing 9-0 to Lyon in their first group game and hoped to right the wrongs against a Brann team who looked like the weakest in their group but that wasn’t the case as Larissa Crummer’s 21st-minute strike was all the hosts needed to collect all the points.

Nekesa who has been called to the latest Harambee Starlets team as they gear to face Botswana in the last round of the 2024 Women African Cup of Nation Qualifiers, managed 74 minutes before being replaced by Krivska.
In the other games played on Wednesday, Barcelona produced a second-half blitz to record a 3-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.
Laura Freigang handed the hosts a late first-half lead but Salma Paralluelo drew the reigning champions level just three minutes after the interval. The Blaugrana completed their comeback barely when Mariona Caldentey pounced on Ingrid Syrstad Engen’s tee-up with a close-range finish. Paralluelo later racked up a brace by producing a carbon copy of Caldentey’s effort after Aitana Bonmatí had fed her inside the penalty area.
