Real Madrid’s horrid outing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League continued on Thursday night following their 2-1 loss to Paris FC.

Hosts Paris grabbed a shock two-goal lead in less than 10 minutes. Julie Dufour bullied captain Ivana Andrés to a loose ball and slotted home for the opener before Gaëtane Thiney made the most of a deflection and rolled a second into an empty net.

Madrid’s Olga Carmona saw a penalty saved by Chiamaka Nnadozie but Caroline Møller turned home at the back post to reduce the arrears but the hosts held on for a famous win.

Elsewhere, Paris Saint Germain picked up their first win of the group stage following their 2-1 win over AS Roma. Two goals on either side of the break were enough for the French side to scrape by as the visitors piled on the pressure late.

Ajax fought back to hold Bayern Munich to a 1-1 draw in another epic encounter staged in Germany. The host initially grabbed a swift lead within 90 seconds as Lea Schüller pounced on a loose ball in the box and slammed it home.

Chasity Grant controlled a ball over the top, swiveled and beat goalkeeper Maria Luisa Grohs from a tight angle to restore matters.
