England women’s national team coach Sarina Wiegman has named her squad for European Championship qualification games next month.

The holders open their campaign against Sweden at Wembley on April 5 before making the short trip to Dublin to take on the Republic of Ireland four days later.

There are no major surprises to the selection, with Leah Williamson picked as she aims for a first cap in a year but Maya Le Tissier drops out and Nikita Parris and Chelsea’s Aggie Beever-Jones are among the more notable absentees.

In a difficult group, France are the other nation competing with the aforementioned trio for a ticket to the Euros.
