“Unfortunately, five coaches failed to meet the required pass mark for the award of their licenses while two more failed to meet the class attendance threshold as is required for the award of their licenses. Consequently, in line with the Confederation of African Football (CAF) policies, the coaches shall be given a six-month grace period to sit assignments and other practical sessions as they await a retake of their final examinations,” FKF said in a statement.

The results that were released on Friday, April 12, 2024 had Tusker FC assistant coach Charles Okere top the class and was closely followed by Kenya U15 Girls national team head coach Jackline Juma. Others who had exemplary performances in the test include Harambee Starlets head coach Beldine Odemba, Posta Rangers stand-in coach Bernard Kawinzi and former Ulinzi Stars midfielder Stephen Ocholla.

The course curriculum covered various practical and theoretical sessions. Practical sessions included Organization, Session Management, Performance Improvement, Meeting Players’ Needs, Communication, and Match Analysis, each contributing to a cumulative score out of 700. Additionally, written practical exams were conducted.

Theoretical sessions encompassed themed coaching, a written exam, and proof of ability (Portfolio), marked out of 300. Coaches were also evaluated on their knowledge of the Laws of the game, accounting for 5% of the total marks. Presentations, evaluating Audibility, Methodology, and Oral Examination, collectively contributed to 300 marks.

The course comprised 17 modules, each facilitated by specialized professionals. Specific modules covered topics such as physiology anatomy, laws of the game, doping, leadership, and management.
