Harambee Starlets forward Esse Akida has dedicated the Greek Women’s Premiership title win to the fans that has supported them all through the season.

Akida, who has been an integral part of the AC Paok team, started the game on Saturday as they beat OFI 3-0 to win the women’s title for the 19th time in their history.

While speaking after the game, Akida who managed 60 minutes in the tie said: “It is the sweetest championship, because winning is very beautiful. It doesn’t matter if you’ve won the title in the past. We are grateful for the presence of the people, who show us their support, in every game. Especially this season, where the league was more competitive. They gave us a big boost in matches.”

The former Spedag FC winger further stated that her dream now is to help the team win a double with the Cup competition set to return on Wednesday for its semifinals.

“Winning a double will cap this season well and we are already looking forward to the game. Mine is to give the best and ensure that the trophy goes to PAOK,” she added.

Paok will be up against OFI again in the semifinals of the Greek Cup on Wednesday 15th May.
