Ulinzi Starlets are the 2024 FKF Women’s Cup Champions for the third time in a row after edging Kibera Soccer Ladies 2-1 in a final staged at the Kenya Police Sacco Stadium on Wednesday 10th July 2024.
The defending Champions took a 4th minute through the returning Sheryl Angachi who just rejoined the team recently after completing her RTI training with the Kenyan Army. They were to extend the lead in the 39th minute through Linda Kihara as they raced to a 2-0 lead at halftime.

Kibera surprisingly had started the game without their star player Maximila Robi but she made no mistake minutes after her introduction when she was to reduce the arrears with 16 minutes remaining on the clock.
While they piled pressure late on, Ulinzi were able to hold on for their third title in a row in the competition.
In the third-place playoff match played earlier at the same ground, Zetech Sparks gave their all as they went 3-4 down to FKF Premier League champions Kenya Police Bullets.
Zetech took a 15th-minute lead through Violet Akinyi and maintained that scoreline until half time. The tide was however to turn in the second half when Diana Wacera leveled the scores in the 54th minute before Puren Alukwe made it 2-1 for the law enforces just four minutes later.
Zetech managed to pull things levelled again through Akinyi for her brace but Lucy Kwekwe restored the Bullets’ lead in the 79th. Foscah Nashivanda levelled matters against for Zetech but Rebecca Okwaro popped up with what proved to be the winner eight minutes from time.
In the Individual Awards, Lavender Akinyi of Ulinzi Starlets was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player while her teammate, Phiona Ariko, earned the Golden Glove with three clean sheets; Police Bullet’s Lucy Kwekwe was the tournament’s top scorer after bagging 5 goals in the tournament.
