In a statement to her fans, Akida thanked the club for offering her an opportunity to accomplish her Champions League dream and wished them all the best in the future. The former Thika Queens forward however felt they could have achieved more in the Champions League.
Akida won the Golden Boot in her first season at PAOK and was named the best foreign player in Greece at the 41st Greek Panhellenic Association of Paid Footballers and Women Footballers (PSAPP) awards in 2022.
Akida’s Goodbye message in Full
My lovely PAOK. It is time to say goodbye. I’m writing this with a heavy heart knowing that you gave me your all in my three-year stay with you.
From the moment I arrived in Greece, you have been nothing short of spectacular in my football journey. From the coaches, players and most importantly the fans, I felt appreciated by you all.
You realized my dream of playing in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, helped me win the Golden Boot in my first season and most importantly, we asserted dominance in Women’s football in the entire Greece to remind the world that we are the DOUBLE -HEADED EAGLE OF THE NORTH.
Although we didn’t do well in continental assignments, I believe we have laid a better foundation for future Starlets to fly the PAOK flag to greater heights.
No matter where I land next in this journey of football, know that I’ll always be cheering you on.
