“We expect a very competitive tournament which will see some new teams and others return after a year. The standard of Women’s Football in the Zone keeps improving and this we have noted during this qualifier,” Yusuf Mossi, the CECAFA Competitions Manager said.
Police arrive in the competition to replace Vihiga Queens who finished second in the just concluded FKFWPL. Vihiga, Simba Queens (Tanzania) and JKT Queens (Tanzania) are the teams that have represented the Zone in the last three CAF Women’s Champions League.

Last year when the event was held in Ivory Coast, JKT Queens failed to make it out of the group after they lost two matches and only registered a 2-1 win against Athletico Football Club of Abidjan (Ivory Coast).
