Kenya national women’s football team Harambee Starlets duo of goalkeeper Caroline Rufa and midfielder Corazone Aquino have been nominated for top awards after a successful season with Simba Queens in Tanzania.
Caroline Rufa has been nominated for the Tanzania Serengeti Women’s Premier League best goalkeeper of the season after an incredible show in the 2023/24 season that saw her side, Simba Queens win the league title.

The ex-SEP Oyugis and Butere Girls prodigy will compete in gala alongside goalpost compatriots Najath Abass of JKT Queens and Mariam Shaban from Bunda Queens.
On the other hand, Corazone Aquino has been proposed for the Women’s Premier League Most Valuable Player (MVP) at the end-of-season awarding gala that is set to take place on the 1st of August 2024 in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.
The Harambee Starlets assistant captain will battle for the coveted award with teammates Aisha Mnunka and Violet Nicholas who also played a huge role in the Simba’s league pursuit in the last campaign.
Yanga Princess home to two other Kenyan internationals; Wincate Kaari and Janet Moraa has also produced Kaeda Wilson who is also on the nominee list for the MVP title, the same to JKT Queens star Stumai Abdalla.
