FKF Women Premier League giants Vihiga Queens will be camping in Kisii for their preseason preparation starting today Monday 5th August 2024.
Queens will be hoping that they can wrestle the title back from Kenya Police Bullets who beat them to the top award last season where they finished second and missed a chance to represent the country in the CAF Women Champions League Qualifiers.

“This tour not only serves as a crucial preparation for the upcoming season but also aligns with the club’s 10th-anniversary Celebrations, offering a blend of pre-season training, community service, and inspirational engagements,” the club said in a statement.
The club further confirmed that they will participate in the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) 2024 National Ball Games in Kisii which is currently on.
According to the team’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Michael Senelwa, the events around the celebrations and pre-season tours will include CSR as VQFC team traverses several Counties in meet-and-greet events.
“The team will offer their time and expertise as volunteers during the KSSSA National Ball Games. Their contributions will include; meet-and-greet Opportunities where VQFC team members will interact with participating players, sharing their insights and experiences to motivate and inspire young players in the tournament.
“Furthermore, coaches and teachers will also have the chance to engage with Vihiga Queens’ technical bench, exchanging knowledge and fostering a collaborative spirit. Additionally, team members will volunteer as first-aid assistants, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants. Lastly, the team will also serve as ushers and stewards, assisting in the smooth running of the event and enhancing the overall experience for attendees,” remarked Senelwa.
The team is expected to play a series of friendlies with soon-to-be-named opponents during their time in Kisii.
