Kenya Under-17 head coach Mildred Cheche believes the training they will have in Spain will have a significant impact on their 2024 World Cup campaign.
The team will embark on a crucial trip to Spain on September 19, 2024, to prepare for their debut in a World Cup and Cheche believes such preparations will benefit her charges.

“So far, we’ve improved on several areas where we had gaps and strengthened the team. Playing internationally is different from playing regionally or in East Africa. Now, they are going to face the best of the best at the World Cup, and we need them prepared,” Cheche said after the team’s training on Tuesday.
The Spain tour will provide the young Kenyan side with the opportunity to test themselves against stronger European teams, with the experience gained set to help them navigate a group that has England, Korea Republic and Mexico.
“Playing against better teams in Spain will prepare them fully for the World Cup,” she added. “All the teams at the World Cup are extremely good, not just in our group. Most people see us as underdogs, but I take it as an advantage because no one knows how we play. Whoever we are playing, we will be up for the task.”
