FKF Premier League side Ulinzi Stars have confirmed the death of coach Joseph Wambua Mwanzia, the head coach of sister club Ulinzi Starlets.

Mwanzia’s demise had been announced earlier on Friday by various media houses after a short illness.

Mwanzia had been handed a sick leave sometime last season when the team was handed to his assistant Clive Odhiambo but he recovered in time for the FKF Women’s Cup final which he won. But reports indicate that he fell ill again recently.

During his tenure as the Starlets coach, he won an unprecedented three Cup titles and his demise will be a big blow for Ulinzi who is currently being led by former Harambee Stars midfielder Stephen Ochola.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved Sisters Ulinzi Starlets Football Club Head Coach, 𝑱𝒐𝒔𝒆𝒑𝒉 π‘Ύπ’‚π’Žπ’ƒπ’–π’‚ π‘΄π’˜π’‚π’π’›π’Šπ’‚. He was more than a leader on the field he was a mentor, a guiding light, and an inspiration to everyone in the Ulinzi Starlets family and Kenya Football fraternity also.

Under his leadership, the team achieved incredible milestones and fostered a spirit of unity, resilience, and passion for the game. His dedication and commitment to excellence will leave an everlasting impact on the lives of the players, staff, Kenya football fraternity and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, and all those touched by his remarkable legacy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
