Defending champions Kenya Police Bullets kicked off their 2024/25 FKF Women Premier League campaign with a 3-0 victory over newly promoted Kisped Queens at Police Sacco Stadium on Saturday.
The match saw 2023/24 FKF Women Premier League Most Valuable Player, Lydia Akoth, break the deadlock in the 39th minute with a ferocious shot following an excellent build-up play from Rebecca Okwaro, who provided the assist.

Despite the persistent pressure from Police Bullets, Kisped Queens’ goalkeeper Lavender Obongo made outstanding saves to keep the game within reach throughout the first half. Obongo’s heroics continued in the second half, notably denying Police Bullets from a well-taken free kick.
However, Kisped’s resilience was eventually broken when Rebecca Okwaro doubled the lead in the 55th minute after an impressive solo run from the center of the pitch. The relentless attacking pressure culminated in the 63rd minute when debutant Jane Hato held off the defense and set up Okwaro to score her second and seal the 3-0 victory for Police Bullets.
In other action, Bungoma Queens suffered a 2-0 defeat at home to Kibera Soccer Women at the National Polytechnic, Bungoma. Amina Nyakoa opened the score in the 11th minute from a well-taken corner by Ann Arusi.
Bungoma Queens struggled to capitalize on their chances, heading into halftime 1-0 down. Arusi, making her debut for Kibera, doubled the score in the 88th minute after a defensive error from the hosts, securing a vital 2-0 win for the visitors.
Over in Nakuru, it was a tough day for Bunyore Starlets as the newly rebranded Trinity Starlets handed them a 3-0 defeat. Jackline Jesang opened the score just three minutes into the game, converting from a Jael Salano assist. Isichi Euphrasia made it 2-0 in the 28th minute, and Jesang sealed the win with her second goal of the game to complete her brace in the second half.
Mombasa Olympics enjoyed a winning start in their debut season, edging past Wadadia 2-0 in Mombasa. Goals from Grace Wekesa and Vivian Awuor ensured the newly promoted side picked up all three points in their opening fixture.
Meanwhile, four-time FKF Women Premier League champions Vihiga Queens left it late to grab a 1-0 victory against Ulinzi Starlets at Moi Stadium Kisumu. A well-taken free kick from Ruth Khasoa in the dying minutes found the head of Providence Khasiala, who guided it into the back of the net to secure the win and keep Vihiga Queens in the hunt for another title.
On Sunday, Kisumu AllStarlets who were making their return to the top flight went 0-1 down to Zetech Sparks.
