AFC Leopards failed to climb to second in the SportPesa Premier League after being held to a goalless draw by Murang’a Seal FC on Sunday afternoon at Nyayo National Stadium.

The result marked Leopards’ fourth draw of the 2025/26 campaign, and only their second 0–0 outing of the season, the other coming against Bandari FC at Kasarani.

Ingwe head coach Fred Ambani made three changes to his starting XI, handing Kaycie Odhiambo his first start and recalling Vincent Mahiga, while Samuel Ssenyonjo also returned. Kennedy Owino, Elias Mugane, and Emmanuel Lwangu were the ones to make way.

Odhiambo partnered with Ivorian defender Rami Coulibaly, who was making just his second start of the season. Seal welcomed back talisman Joe Irungu to the lineup, with Kiplangat dropping to the bench.

Leopards carved out the first real opening when Ssenyonjo combined neatly with Hassan Beja to set up James Kinyanjui, but his effort was blocked and cleared. Seal’s best chance of the half came through Victor Haki, whose low strike failed to trouble goalkeeper Maxwell Katasi in an otherwise cagey opening period.

Ambani made a double change at the break, introducing Christopher Koloti and Ronald Sichenje for Ssenyonjo and Beja as Ingwe pushed for a breakthrough. However, the hosts struggled to create clear chances.

Ingwe ultimately extended their scoreless run to two matches following last weekend’s 2–0 loss to Mara Sugar FC in Awendo. For Osborne Monday’s Seal side, the draw stretches their unbeaten run to four matches, with three of those ending level.

The result leaves AFC Leopards third on the table with 13 points, three points behind leaders K’Ogalo, who still have a match in hand. Murang’a Seal, meanwhile, jumped a place up to 14th, extending their gap from the teams in the relegation zone to three points after nine games of the 2025/26 season.

In the day’s other fixture, Police FC bounced back from their defeat to Gor Mahia last weekend by beating Tusker FC 2–1 at the SportPesa Arena in Murang’a.
