Harambee Stars head coach Benni McCarthy is set to release his official Biography in February 2026 as he hopes to open up about his football career.
The book is co-authored with esteemed football writer Mark Gleeson and will be published by Pan Macmillan South Africa with the former Manchester United set to reveal more about his career as a player and coach.

The book will feature a foreword written by veteran tactician José Mourinho, the manager who led FC Porto to the 2004 UEFA Champions League title with McCarthy as a key player; the Portuguese having previously talked glowingly about McCarthy.
According to the synopsis, the biography promises to be a candid and honest account of McCarthy’s life and career, from his challenging upbringing in Hanover Park, Cape Town, to becoming South Africa’s all-time leading goal scorer and the only South African to win the UEFA Champions League.
It will cover his many on-pitch achievements and also the controversies and challenges he faced throughout his playing days and transition into coaching, including his current role as head coach of the Kenyan national team, the Harambee Stars.
