The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced the dates of the two-legged CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup finals.

The Champions League is in the quarterfinals where the CECAFA region is still represented by Tanzania duo of Yanga SC and Simba SC with the teams having dates against Mamelodi Sundowns and Al Ahly respectively this weekend.

A statement from CAF on Thursday noted: “The Champions League final first leg will be on Saturday May 28.  The second leg will be played on Saturday May 25.

“The first leg of the Confederation Cup will be played on Sunday May 12. The second leg will be the following weekend, on Sunday, May 19.”

This season, Kenya had been represented by Kakamega Homeboyz in the CAF Confederations Cup but were eliminated in the first round of the preliminary stage by Libya’s Al Hilal. There was no representative for the nation in the CAF Champions League after Gor Mahia were locked out due to a transfer embargo.

  • First Leg: Saturday May 18
  • Second Leg: Saturday May 25

2023-24 CAF Confederation Cup final

  • First Leg: Sunday May 12
  • Second Leg: Sunday May 19
