Former Harambee Stars manager Antoine Hey has been named as the new head coach of Algerian side ES Setif.
The 54-year-old was officially unveiled on Monday, signaling the club’s ambition to return to the top of Algerian football.

“Entente Sportive Sétifienne is delighted to announce the signing of Antoine Hey as the head coach of the first team. We are confident that his international experience and strategic vision will strengthen our squad and help us achieve our ambitious goals for the upcoming season,” a statement from the club noted.
Hey brings a wealth of experience both as a former player and manager. He once featured for European sides like Schalke 04, Birmingham City, and Fortuna Düsseldorf before taking on coaching jobs across Africa.
His coaching CV includes Al-Merreikh in Sudan, US Monastir in Tunisia, and national teams such as Rwanda, Liberia, Gambia, and Lesotho.
He joins a club that has parted ways with seven players namely Abdelmoumene Chikhi, Amir Nouri, Diarra Moriba, Driss Chaabi, and Abdelrazak Mahra. Oladapo Augustin Tunde and Kosi Rodrigue also had their contracts terminated.
The club, which ended last season in sixth place with 41 points, is aiming for a stronger showing next season.
