Nairobi United’s Kevin Wangaya crowned April 2026 SportPesa League Player of the Month.

Alex Imbusia’s header two minutes from time ensured that Mara Sugar walked away with a point after holding Nairobi United to a 1-1 draw in a FKF Premier League game staged at Kasarani Annex on Wednesday 1, April 2026.

United started brightly and should have taken an earlier lead through Michael Karamor who blazed his effort wide. Mara had a chance of their own with keeper Bernard Jairo coming off his line to stop David Omondi off his tracks when he had been put through by Cliff Nyakeya.

While the first half produced no goal despite the chances, the deadlock was broken by Kevin Wangaya. In the 66th minute after being teed up by Karamor.

With the game heading for a United win, Imbusia had other plans as he towered above the hosts defence to plant a header past Jairo following a sumptuous delivery from Timothy Ndyalala.

United still remains 10th on the league table with 35 points after the draw with Mara a position below them on 31 points.
