The FKF Premier League title race took another twist on Wednesday, 13 May, as AFC Leopards and Mara Sugar registered crucial victories in contrasting fashion.
At Nyayo National Stadium, Leopards boosted their title ambitions with a commanding 2-0 win over Ulinzi Stars to move within four points of leaders Gor Mahia with three matches left to play.

Ingwe started brightly, with their captain leading from the front and testing goalkeeper Ricks Omondi early on. Ulinzi gradually settled into the match and nearly grabbed the opener through Bonface Muchiri, but Humphrey Katasi produced a brilliant save to keep the scores level.
Leopards eventually broke the deadlock in the 43rd minute when Rising Stars midfielder Kelly Madada reacted quickest to a loose ball inside the box to fire home. Emmanuel Lwangu then sealed the victory in the 82nd minute with a powerful header, ensuring all three points for Ingwe.

Meanwhile, at Awendo Green Stadium, Mara Sugar claimed a dramatic 1-0 win over Shabana FC thanks to a stoppage-time strike from substitute Dennis Wafula.
The two sides produced an entertaining contest filled with chances at both ends. Shabana threatened through Danson Kiprono, Victor Otieno and Kevin Omundi, but Mara goalkeeper Joseph Ogenda delivered a series of crucial saves to keep the visitors at bay.
With the match seemingly headed for a draw, Wafula emerged as the hero in the 94th minute, scoring the decisive goal to hand Mara Sugar a morale-boosting victory and end Shabana’s three-match unbeaten run.
