Kenya’s Emerging Stars will discover their opponents in the TotalEnergies CAF Under-23 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2027 qualifiers when the draw is held in Cairo today.
The draw, scheduled for 3:00pm Cairo time will determine Kenya’s route to the eight-team continental finals, with Egypt already qualified automatically as hosts.

A total of 43 nations are involved, with the remaining 42 teams competing for seven qualification places through three rounds of home-and-away ties.
The first round will feature 28 teams, while 14 nations will receive byes to the second round based on their performances in the previous three editions. The seven third-round winners will join hosts Egypt at the finals.
Egyptian goalkeeping legend Nader El Sayed and former Côte d’Ivoire international Abdoulaye Meite will serve as Draw Assistants.

El Sayed made more than 100 appearances for Egypt and was part of the Pharaohs’ 1998 AFCON-winning squad. Meite represented Côte d’Ivoire at the 2006 FIFA World Cup and AFCON final.
Kenya will be hoping the draw gives the Emerging Stars a favourable route as they target qualification for the 2027 tournament.
The competing nations include Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Senegal, Morocco, South Africa, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Cameroon, Côte d’Ivoire, DR Congo and hosts Egypt, among others.
