Inter Milan wont be defending their Copa de Italia title after being beaten 2-1 by Bologna in the competition on Wednesday night at San Siro.
Inter largely dominated the match with a staggering 21 shots to seven, but they’ll have themselves to blame for the several missed chances including a penalty loss by Lautaro Martinez. The Argentine had a chance to be the hero for the hosts, but a diving save from goalkeeper Federico Ravaglia denied him from the spot.

With no goal in normal time, the game headed to extra time where Inter took a deserving lead through Carlos Augusto. But Bologna restored parity when Sam Beukema volleyed home from close range before Dan Ndoye put them into the lead four minutes later.
The loss means that Inter’s dream of bagging a treble is up in smoke as they aim to dominate the Italian football this season.
