Ayub Timbe finally made his debut for Azerbaijan top-flight side FK Sabail as they went 3-1 down to Turan on Friday evening.

Hosts Turan took a 24th-minute lead through Guseynov in proved to be the only goal in the first half. They were to double their lead in the 73rd minute through Pachu but Pedro Nuno pulled a goal back for Sabail nine minutes from time.

Pachu grabbed his brace three minutes later to preserve the two-goal cushion with the win moving them to seventh in the league with 25 points after 20 games. With the loss, Sabail remained in fifth place with 27 points after the same number of games.

Timbe was introduced in the 46th minute for Cameroonian Sylvain Boris Nabil and he will be hoping to get more minutes when they take on Zira in a Cup game on January 30th, 2024.

Timbe moved to the club a fortnight ago from Chinese side Nianjing City and will be staying in his current station until the end of the season.
