Collins Sichenje’s agent Patrick Mork has hit out on AIK over the mistreatment of the player at the start of the season.

Sichenje who picked up an injury in preseason but was back on time for the start of the season wasn’t given any game time by his club after eight games before he secured a season-long loan move to Serbian side Vojvodina.

The Harambee Stars defender impressed in the club’s doubleheader against European giants but is yet to taste a league game with his new club but Mork believes that the player will permanently move to Serbia as the club wants to exercise that option in the loan deal.

“I have been told that Vojvodina wants to take up the purchase option very soon. I have suffered with him after being perhaps the best centre-back in the Finnish league to never even get a second in an AIK that concedes so many goals. I have such a hard time understanding it,” Mork is quoted by Fotboldirekt.

But AIK Sporting director Thomas Berntsen has defended his club against the accusations and denied having the information that the Kenyan was to be sold permanently.

“I haven’t heard anything at all about it (selling Sichenje),” Berntsen said. “We know that he is a good player. Now the situation has been such that none of our three most recent coaches (Andreas Brännström, Henning Berg and Henok Goitom) have chosen to use him, they have prioritized other players. Therefore, it was better with a solution like this (loan) and we also have a very good resale clause on him.

“I know that Collins did very well in Finland, but then he got injured last winter and was out for a while. He then became restless about not being able to play so moving to Serbia was a good solution. We know that Collins has the physical conditions, he is fantastic in the air and is fast. It’s very good if he’s doing well over there, I’m happy for him because he’s a damn fine guy.”

Since his arrival at the club late last month, Sichenje has featured twice for Vojvodina but missed the club’s second league game of the season over the weekend where they lost to Cukaricki.
