Jamus Sports Club defeated El Merriekh SC Bentiu 4-2 on post-match penalties after a scoreless draw in regular to retain their South Sudan Cup title.

In a match staged at the Juba National Stadium, Jamus goalkeeper Majak Mawit Maling stopped two penalties with their head coach Jean Claude Loboko praising his players for their efforts.

“Lifting this Cup means a lot to us as we now turn focus to the South Sudan Premier League,” said Loboko who was also voted best coach of the competition.

Jamus SC secured a place in the final after ejecting Koryrom FC 2-0, while El Merriekh SC Bentiu saw off Aweil United FC 5-0 with the win guaranteeing Jamus SC the opportunity to represent South Sudan at the CECAFA Dar Port Kagame Cup 2025 expected to take place in July in Tanzania.

Apart from the Cup, attention for Jamus now shifts to the league where they are still unbeaten and are place third on the table.
