AFC Leopards who were the hosts of the 92nd Mashemeji Derby staged on Sunday 29th January 2023 at Nyayo Stadium collected a total of KES 3330500 for the match.
According to a statement from the club, they sold over 1000 tickets for the clash which had its VIP section retailing for KES 1000 a ticket while the terraces, popularly known as Russia, having 9565 tickets sold.

“Slightly over 10,000 tickets were snapped up for the weekend #MashemejiDerby, making it our most-attended match in the league this season so far. 461 of those tickets were for the VIP section and 9565 were for the terraces,” Leopards noted on their social media platforms.
The turnout means that the club pocketed KES 461000 from the VIP section with the terrace section earning them a total of 2869500.
Despite the drove of fans that thronged the stadium, the game ended in a goalless draw with AFC Leopards having less time to prepare for their next game as they are set to face Vihiga Bullets at the same venue on Wednesday in a rescheduled league game.
