Former Kisumu AllStars manager Charles Bruno is the frontrunner for the Michael Olunga Football Academy (MOFA) FC head coach job.

Pepeta can exclusively reveal that Bruno who led AllStars to an eighth-place finish has been approached by the MOFA management with both parties set to finalize a deal in the coming days.

Apart from Bruno, there have been reports that Kakamega Homeboyz assistant coach Paul Okatwa, APS Bomet’s Evans Mafuta , former KCB FC head coach Patrick Odhiambo, Francis Chege, Alfred Chole and Owen Makokha are the other candidates who might be considered by the team.

The head coach position at MOFA fell vacant after the club confirmed the departure of Lloyd Wahome who helped the team to a seventh-place finish.

In a statement, MOFA said of Wahome, “We extend our sincere gratitude to coach Wahome for his hard work, unwavering dedication and professionalism during his time at the club. His contribution to our vision and journey has been significant and we remain proud of the progress achieved under his leadership.

“We wish him the very best as he embarks on the next chapter of his coaching career. The club will communicate on the way forward regarding the head coach position in due course.”

The team was founded by Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga in 2019 and is based in Othoro, Homa Bay and have ambitions of getting promoted to the Kenyan Premier League next season.
