Tusker FC edged FKF Premier League newbies APS Bomet 1-0 in a preseason friendly game staged at the Finlays Ground in Kericho on Tuesday afternoon.

The all-important goal was bagged by new signing Eric Kapaito in the 26th minute with the game being one of the three the Charles Okere coached side in their preseason tour of Kisumu.

Kapaito pulled a brilliant overhead kick, finishing off after skipper Charles Momanyi had nodded down Issa Lumumba’s recycled ball from a free kick. Lumumba was to hit the upright later on as Tusker searched for a goal to give them the needed breathing space but Okere was overall pleased with the result.

“It was a great match for us because mostly we wanted to have a look at the new players and how well they have integrated into the team. There were a lot of positives and of course some areas that we feel we can do better and we will improve in the next coming matches,” Okere is quoted by the club’s media.

The games saw new signing Ronnie Otieno handed a start with Dennis Oalo, Eugene Ikutwa, Vincent Owino and Thomas Omolle entering the fray in the second half.

Attention for Tusker now shift to their next friendly game where they are set to face TBM Health in Kisumu on Thursday before playing Kakamega Homeboyz in Kakamega on Saturday.
