Kariobangi Sharks head coach William Muluya is worried about his team’s lack of goals having failed to score for the second successive game.
Sharks were held to a goalless draw by Ulinzi Stars in round two of the Sportpesa League on Wednesday having opened their season with the same results against Bandari FC.

Speaking after their Ulinzi game, Muluya bemoaned his team’s lack of goals in the past season and their slow start to the season heading into Round Three.
“Our intention is to improve on our finishing. Having gone for more than 180 minutes without a goal, it means we have a lot of work to do. Last season we had 29 goals and I think it was the lowest scoring season in our history. We are a team that has been scoring 40 to 50 goals a season. We have been in the league for nine season and we have produced top scorers in four of them (so scoring goals shouldn’t be a problem to us),” Muluya said.
The lack of goals in their first two games this season, according to Muluya, could be pinned on inexperience with the coach informing his strikers that they don’t have much time to start finding the onion bag.
“There has been an element of inexperience because if you look at Markvivian (Kesa), he is coming in the league for the first time. We have targets for him and he has targets of his own so we have to give him time unfortunately we don’t have much time because we are heading to the third game (and we need goals),” he added.
With two points after two games, attention for Sharks now shifts to their third game of the season where they are scheduled to take on KCB FC.
