Posta Rangers recorded a 2-1 win over Shabana FC in a game played at Gusii Stadium on Wendesday 15th October 2025 to go top of the Sportpesa League.

Shabana came into the tie with the aim of consolidating their lead at the top and the earlier exchanges suggested that they were in for a fight. They were however lucky not to fall behind when David Leon cross hit the bar with Maxwell Mulili well beaten.

If the warning wasn’t enough, Rangers took the lead at the stroke of half time when Brian Marita scored after a good delivery from Jackson Dwang’.

Shabana upped the tempo in the second half after going down but it was keeper Fredrick Odhiambo, formerly with Shabana, who refused to be beaten by his former employers. He was to save a penalty five minutes after the hour mark before Trevor Omondi doubled their lead in the 77th minute.

An additional ten minutes was added to the normal time with the hosts pulling a goal back through Victor Omondi but the Sammy Pamzo side held on to move on top of the table.

In another match played earlier, Kakamega Homeboyz came from a goal down to beat Bidco United 3-1. Dennis Murunga gave Bidco the lead inside ten minutes but goals from Henry Omollo, Oliver Majak and an own goal from Kevin Omondi handed the Patrick Odhiambo men all the three points.
