Having introduced himself in the 2018 Chapa Dimba Tournament, Onchwari was among the players chosen by the tournament coaches to be among the 32 best players, 16 boys and 16 girls, who made it to the Chapa Dimba team that went to Spain to train and benchmark.

On his arrival back in the country, he was to be signed by Zoo FC where he played for three years before moving to Somalia to join military outfit Horseed FC in the Somali Premier League.

The former national U23 team trialist spent four months in Somalia before returning to the country to join Muhoroni Youth which marked a return to the top flight after taking up Wazito’s slot; he had been at the club for a season.

Despite Muhoroni Youth getting relegated, the defender was among the key players for the side and his efforts has now landed him at Tusker.

He becomes the fifth player to be snapped by the Ruaraka-based side this window after the arrival of Thomas Omole, Eric Balecho, Jacob Onyango and Dennis Wanjala.
