Departing Gor Mahia striker Charles Bbaale has moved to Police FC of Uganda ahead of the new Uganda Premier League season.

The Ugandan spent five months with Gor Mahia after a stint in Rwanda where he featured for Rayon Sports.

Also joining Police is Deus Bukenya aho just like Bbaale, has signed a two-year deal. Bukenya joins from Tanzania’s Kagera Sugar, where he spent the last two seasons.

A two-time UPL winner with Vipers in 2015 and 2018, Bukenya primarily operates as a defensive midfielder but can also play as a right back and comes in to replace Timothy Muwanguzi, who recently left for NEC FC.

Bbaale who previously featured for Rayon Sports following a stellar season with SC Villa, where he scored 12 goals and came close to guiding the Jogoos to the 2023 UPL title. Rising to prominence from the Masaza Cup with Gomba in 2021, Bbaale has become one of the Cops’ marquee signings.

The duo joins left-back Richard Matovu (from Vipers), Stephen Namaisi, Benon Tahomera, Saidi Kyeyune, and Lawrence Tezikyaas the new faces in the team.

The club also confirmed that they had renewed contracts of Brian James Obedi, Emmanuel Mugume, and goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga.
